Participation opportunities
Exhibit
The Minnesota State Fair Christmas Tree Contest features over 100 trees in one of the nation’s largest summer displays. The competition includes decorated and undecorated trees as well as wreath and other decorations categories with “people’s choice” voting. Tree Judging
We began engaging the public about two years ago to find qualified judges for our Christmas Tree Contest. This group judges the undecorated trees only. The only requirement is that each judge has purchased a live Christmas tree for their own home for at least the last five years. Judging occurs on Monday, August 24th. Decorated Judging
The MN Christmas Tree Association is seeking members from the public who have decorated their own Christmas tree for at least the past five years, have an attention to detail and who will be able to appreciate the originality and craftsmanship of each individual decoration. Volunteering
Although our booth is sponsored by the Minnesota State Fair, the MN Christmas Tree Association provides knowledgeable volunteers during the peak hours of the State Fair. Volunteers do not have to be active growers of Christmas trees. We are seeking volunteers who are members of MNCTA or those who have entered one or more of our many contest exhibits.
